Application of modern information technologies for documenting the Altai rock art

The article presents the results of studies of petroglyphs from the southeastern Altai in 2017. The tasks of documenting the monuments of rock art, which occur there on a large territory, were solved using modern information and geoinformation technologies and methods of visualization and three-dimensional modeling of rock surfaces with drawings. Mapping of the petroglyphs of the Chagan Valley and the construction of the three-dimensional models of the terrain were continued. A quadcopter was used for aerial survey. As a result of the works, over 200 objects with photographs were entered into the closed information system petrogis.mmc.nsu.ru; a mobile application was also used for that purpose. A three-dimensional modeling of a large rock outcrop with the concentrated cluster of petroglyphs of the Bronze Age was carried out.
