Intermediary activities of banks in the securities market: historical aspect

the use of financial resources accumulated in the securities market without the participation of intermediaries providing not only placement but also circulation of securities is currently impossible. Moreover, changes in the system of state regulation of the financial market have changed the structure of participants engaged in intermediary operations. In the article, the authors consider the history of the emergence and development of intermediation in the securities market, clarify the role of banks and identify the most significant areas of its development.
