Translation of the treatise “On confession of sins” by St. Sophronius of Jerusalem.

This article publishes the Russian translation of the treatise of St. Sophronius, Patriarch of Jerusalem Περί ἐξαγγελλιῶν from the edition of Greek Patrology by Jacques Paul Migne. The article is preceded by an introductory commentary in the context of topical Western historiography with a view to presenting the history of the study of this treatise. A historical reference is also given to the canons contained in the treatise, and the whole treatise is evaluated as part of a certain Byzantine ecclesiastical and practical literature. This translation can serve as an aid to further deep study of the canons given in the treatise.
