The monuments of Kalmyk sphragistics are diverse in their content. The legends on the stamps of Kalmyk rulers could be written down in Sanskrit, Chinese, Tibetan and Uigur languages. There were also monuments in Chinese language written with the square script. The purpose of the article is to introduce the sphragistic data on the Louzan-Taisha seal in Chinese language and to offer a hypothesis about its origin. The material was the publication of a letter of Louzan-Taisha to the Moscow tsar Mikhail Fedorovich. During the research the content of the legend on the seal was clarified, examples of similar seals in Tibet and China were given, and a hypothesis about the origin of the seal was put forward.
