The article reviews the problems of establishing the value of patriotism under formation of a new Russian statehood. Examining the President’s addresses and prominent religious figures’ speeches the authors make the conclusion about historical, pedagogical, psychological-pedagogical and religious value of patriotism for a modern society and state.
