Patriotic training in higher education institutions as the priority direction of the state youth policy (regional experience)

In the article modern Russian practice of creating the system of measures directed at patriotic education of youth in the educational environment is analyzed. Basing on materials of the analysis of activities of Russian educational institutions in patriotic education and prevention of extremism, the author considers patriotic education in the context of the state youth policy. As a result, communication of such phenomena as patriotism and extremism is revealed. The review of the most promising regional practices on modernization of the work of higher educational institutions in the sphere of patriotic education and counteraction to extremism is provided. The author represents the experience of the Orel branch of Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration in this sphere.
