The article considers the resumption of regular pilgrimage trips to the Holy Land from the countries of the Russian diaspora as a factor in the unification of the Russian emigration. Born out of the sincere desire of Bishop Methodius (Kulman) to introduce a flock cut off from Russia to the Gospel and Biblical relics, the pilgrimages had a charitable and unifying meaning. The gathering of Russian people around the Holy Land anticipated the future reunification of the Russian Church in 2007 and 2019. Conducted under the leadership of Bishop Methodius, these trips, in addition to their main meaning - the worship of Christ, carried charitable assistance to the inhabitants of the Holy Land, mainly Russian monastics. The common cause of pilgrimage and charity brought the pilgrims closer together, despite the differences in the jurisdictions of the Russian Church to which they belonged. Meetings with the Eastern Patriarchs during their travels were important in maintaining pan-Orthodox unity during the period of polarization of the world during the Cold War. The data on the size of the annual financial aid from the journal of the Commonwealth of Pilgrims Pilgrim’s Leaflet are given.
