Purpose: Identification and study of the major differences in the activities of lawyers and persons not having the status of a lawyer, in the provision of legal assistance to business entities. Methodology: We used the methods of analysis and synthesis, formal-logical, comparative law. Results: This article presents a comparative analysis of the activities of lawyers, in-house counsel organizations and law firms to provide services on legal support of business entities. The article analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the different entities providing legal services. The author suggests the most effective variant of the organization of legal support of the enterprise. Novelty/originality/value: The article has a high scientific and practical value, because today is an attempt to review the actual problem.
