Features of the prevention of illegal gambling activities in the Russian Federation

Introduction: The article presents the socio-criminological characteristics of the prevention of crimes associated with the illegal organization and conduct of gambling. The position on the need to develop a system of publicly available state systems and measures to combat illegal organization and conduct of gambling is indicated. Materials and methods: the normative basis of the study is made up of criminal and criminal procedural legislation, local normative legal acts regulating the sphere of organizing and conducting gambling. The methodological basis of the study was the general dialectical method of scientific knowledge, which is universal in nature, as well as the methods of logical deduction, induction, cognitive methods and techniques of observation, comparison, analysis, generalization and description. The results of the study: made it possible to clarify certain provisions related to the socio-criminological characteristics, to reveal the content and practical significance of structural elements for optimizing the process of investigation of illegal organization and conduct of gambling, as well as to establish the elements of the criminological aspect of the study of illegal gambling activity, which can subsequently serve for development of measures to prevent these crimes. Findings and Conclusions: identify the main elements of successful prevention of illegal gambling. It is concluded that it is advisable to amend the legislation of the Russian Federation in order to increase the effectiveness of countering illegal gambling activities.
