Features of ideas about the educational choice of students at various stages of study at the university

Solving the problem of determining the essential characteristics of the phenomenon of educational choice in the conditions of the modern educational process provides an awareness of the degree of student involvement in their own development trajectory. The purpose of the study is to reveal the peculiarities of ideas about the implementation of the educational choice by the subjects of educational relations at various stages of education at the university. To study students’ ideas, a specially designed questionnaire was used, the questions of which allow assessing the level of student awareness about the concepts of “individual educational trajectory”, “digital educational environment”, “choice” and “ideas about one’s own future”. Positive changes in the level of awareness, depth and content of the studied phenomena are determined. At the same time, the subjectivity of students’ positions is manifested in terms of the presence of fluctuations in taking responsibility for their own choice at various stages of education at the university. Differences in the interpretation of ideas about the future in terms of their structure and awareness of one’s own role in the implementation of targets are revealed. It is substantiated that the educational choice is the result of the process of understanding the student’s own educational trajectory. The practical significance is determined by the validity of the study of the totality of students’ ideas about the alternatives of personal, professional, social development, the focus on the implementation of these alternatives in the framework of constructing their own (individual) educational trajectory.
