The case study of the evolution of soils and landscapes has been characterized in the basin of drained lake «Opytnoe» with peat-mineral sediments (the Bolshezemelskaya Tundra). The features of permafrost aggradation and cryogenic processes have been assessed. In the basin the specific peat permafrost-affected soils develop under meadow communities. The general direction of the evolution of the drained lake is landscape and soil restoration typical for tundra.
