Main trends of the development of domestic and foreign historical and historical-legal late XIX — early XXI centuries research of Russian Empire political police in 1826—1860

This article is devoted to domestic and foreign historiography of the late XIX — early XXI centuries on Russian Empire police in 1826—1860. Its periodization is proposed. The author analyzes the main trends of development, through the study of aspects: the objective conditions of its development, the objective forms of expression, research methodology, source base, range of issues, and modern identification of problems.
