The article describes the results of the research on the condition of the medical equipment in the leading public health service establishment in the Vologda region - the regional hospital № 1. The author defined the necessary volume of financing for compencation of the annual wear and tear of the medical equipment. The questions of the organization of service maintenance are discussed.
