Professional self-determination is associated with the development of personality at all age stages; therefore, the preschool age is regarded as preparatory, which lays the foundation for future profes-sional self-determination. At this age the value orientations are formed, a person’s relations with the outside world are built, an interest is shown in the professional activities of adults and imitation of them. This article describes the experience of the kindergarten to create a children’s workshop, the purpose of which is to get acquainted with the world of professions; acquisition of primary practical experience in certain types of work; determining the importance of professions for other people; expansion and generalization of children’s ideas about the professions, the structure of the labor pro-cess (aim and motive, materials and objects of labor, tools and equipment, labor actions, the result of labor); development of curiosity and interest in the activities of adults
