The article deals with the problem of organizing by teacher extracurricular independent work of students in the context of using information technology. The teacher’s experimental work on a research topic is described. The basic concepts of the problem are analyzed and rened. Conclusions about the posi-tive and negative effects of the incorrect use of information and communication technologies are made.
