The study included 72 persons, among which 51 persons with atherosclerosis obliterans of the lower extremities with chronic arterial insufficiency and 21 practically healthy volunteers. All patients underwent assessment of the overal status, of the lipid profile and volume sphigmography. In patients with atherosclerosis obliterans of the lower extremities revealed an increase in the stiffness of the arterial wall, marked reduction of ankle-brachial and toe-brachial index, which do not depend on the level of the destruction arterial vessels, the correlation index stiffness of the vascular wall with the age of the subjects and the total cholesterol level, high and low lipoprotein density. Arterial stiffness indicators can be used to assess the treatment and prevention of the adverse cardiovascular events.
