Assessment of the condition of the atmosphere in Tver by means of FTIR spectroscopy of Hypogymnia physodes

FTIR method of spectroscopy of epiphyite lichens carried out an assessment of a condition of the atmosphere in Tver. A dominating pollutant is SO2 and/or H2SO4. Their main source are Tver CHPP combined heat and power plants using as fuel, except gas, the fuel oil possessing a high sernistost. About impact on lichens of high concentration of this gas specifies formation in them of sulfates, and the essential content sulfons.
