This article discusses wireless wearable networks (WBAN), justifies their relevance, provides information on the scope of their application. The WBAN classification from the point of friction of the wireless technology used is considered. The main system requirements are listed, such as data transfer rate, frequency range used, transmitter power consumption level, quality of service indicators and some others. An overview of the standards for implementing WBAN is provided: IEEE 802.15.4 and IEEE 802.15.6. Some characteristics of the devices and the main problems in the design and implementation of WBAN are reported.
