The article deals with the art of the Russian artist Zorikto Dorzhiev who produced a series of pictorial and graphic works devoted to the Great Steppe, a general notion indicating the culture of Mongolian peoples, who lived on the territory of Central Asia in the past. The article contains the analysis of his most significant works, proposes the comprehension of his artistic method and suggests the definition of the specificity of his artistic approach that turns out to be in keeping both with traditional and contemporary art.
