Specific features in analysis of civil society in Russia

During the course of extensive discussions on the problems of civil society in Russia that have unfolded in recent years, most of the participants proceed from the premise that Russia needs structures and forms of civil relations widely represented in Western culture. But the very fact of direct borrowing rests on domestic reality, which does not allow Western models to work “here and now”.
