On one of the ancient Egyptian expeditions to Wadi Hammamat at the end of the first intermediate period (m 169)

In this article the problem of dating the inscription M 169 from Wadi Hammamat is discussed. The author argues that the graffiti was made during the First Intermediate Period while king Ity mentioned in the source should be identified with king Userkare of the VI dynasty. Analyze of the text proves that M 169 may be connected to the political struggle between Xth and XIth Egyptian dynasties.
