The article deals with representation of prince Roman Mstislavich in Galician-Volynian Chronicle through realization of the topoi of «beginning of history» and «genesis of hero» in its introduction. Are explicated some aspects of chronicler's using of the epic style and legendary narratives which forms given topoi.
