Dedicated to the search and systematization of regulatory documents and legal doctrine regarding the issue of the legal responsibility of robots and artificial intelligence. It is noted that the problem of responsibility of artificial intelligence is not clearly solved in the legal systems of various states, integration formations and requires additional clarification. The need to make changes to the regulations and to identify those responsible if the responsibility is scattered or its verification is difficult in relation to the incurred damage is emphasized. It is said that the European Union favors the consideration of artificial intelligence and a robot as a new intermediate legal figure, standing between the definition of a robot as a thing (object of law) and an individual. It is concluded that this concept has a number of logical grounds and can be taken as the basis for the improvement of legislation.
