Folk poetic description of an angel in the tales by A. M. Remisov

In the article the image of an angel in the three tales of A. M. Remizov: "Krasochki" ("Posolon"), "Spring Thunder" and "Guardian Angel" ("To the Sea-Ocean") is concidered. The writer spent his whole life studying the Russian folklore tradition. He collected works of folk art in the Russian North, carefully studied folklore and ethnographic works and collections. It is noted that in his work there are both detailed descriptions of folk games and rituals which often interact as well as special, long-forgotten words-metaphors that make up the richness of mythopoetic thinking. The angel in the tales by of A. M. Remizov, appears not only as a representative of the higher heavenly forces, but also in the role of the bearer of the people's ideas about the structure of the universe. It is concluded that after deeply mastering the folklore ethnographic tradition, the writer creatively approaches to the imaging of the biblical character and successfully combines the Christian interpretation of the image of the angel with his folk-poetic interpretation.
