The article presents the results of an empirical study of motivation to work of modern Russian manager. The degree of intensity of the internal and external motivation, motivation to achieve success and to avoid failure, the power motive, sense-creating motives in the motivation to work structure is shown. The procedural and the resulting motivations to work of contemporary managers are analysed.
