The youth of the region in the infosphere of modern Russian society: on the problems of Tambov region youth policy

The author analyses the youth of the region as a special social group in the infospace of modern Russian society. This research is relevant, in particular, in connection to the emergence of new information technologies and their impact on the process of socialization of the younger generation. Through the Internet, mass communication media and modern mass media, young people are actively involved in the daily exchange of information, while the media and Internet become the leading agents of youth socialization. In the context of the regional information space, the indicated interpretation allowed the author to describe the phenomenon of the axiological generation gap. Its essence lies in the inability of the older generations to quickly adapt to new technologies. As a result they are rapidly losing their traditional role in the transmission of social and cultural values to the younger generation. Young people find themselves face-to-face with new civilizational, social, cultural challenges and risks, having no ideological and spiritual baggage, having not adopted the socio-cultural values of “fathers” and “grandfathers”. The article points out the reference and problem points of youth policy. Managerial decisions in this social segment should be made taking into account the uncertainty shown, which characterizes the features of collective and individual youth elections and motivations.
