Modernization of fan impeller in order to increase its efficiency

The paper solves the problem of numerical modeling of the interaction of air and solid body. We investigate the aerodynamic characteristics of various design fan impellers installed in the air duct as well as an assessment of stress-strain state of the fan impeller during its operation. Feature comparison of the original and upgraded versions of the fan impeller has shown that an upgraded fan impeller provides increased air flow by 24 - 30% at the same fan speed. The most dangerous from the viewpoint of the strength of the impeller are inertial loads on the fan, causing stress concentrations in the areas of junction of the blades to the hub in the area of the front and rear edges.
