This article presents a fragmentary historical and logical cross-section of understanding and solving the agro-economic problem, taking into account the genesis of environmental realities, further industrialization, technologization and socialization of market economy, in particular, in a country such as the Russian Federation. The authors pay special attention to the problematic issues of improving (preserving) the quality of food, and therefore the quality of the workforce and the health of the population.
