The article presents the results of long-term research for the purpose of developing pedagogical methods of control of applied motor readiness of cadets and students of 4-5 courses of study of educational institutions of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation - the future employees of special police units. The experimental procedure is based on the fundamental propositions of the theory of the human condition testing, causing the need to verify the control of motor tasks to meet the criteria of informativeness and validity. The informativeness of tests was determined by calculating of the correlation coefficients between the test results and the criteria of informativeness, which are mainly used: composite criterion in groups of cadets of the fourth-year of study; composite criterion and evaluation of practical training in groups of students of the fifth-year of study. Validity of tests was determined by calculating the correlation coefficients between the results of re-testing. The values of integral and total indices of applied motor readiness of students were calculated on the basis of proportional scale, involving the same numbers of points for equal accrue of gained results. Levels of development of integral and total indices were calculated on the base of the method by using group average values and standard deviations. Integral and total indices are recommended as the main indicators of the development level of applied motor readiness of students. The proposed method gets a finished look, based on the calculated five levels of the development of the integral and total indices of applied motor readiness (high, above average, average, below average, low). During the formative pedagogical experiments it was revealed a high level of efficiency of the developed method of pedagogical control of applied motor readiness of cadets and students of 4-5 courses of study of educational institutions of Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, which allows to recommend it for replication in the preparation of future employees of special police units.
