In the conditions of the natural monument “The oak forest of the Botanical garden of the University” there is demonstrated that the microtine gnawing animals prefer the areals with the total projective cover that don’t exceed 70%, at this time the fundamental importance belongs not to the species diversity of the plant complex but to the role of the dominant species.
