The purpose of this study was to evaluate efficiency of different unconventional radiation therapy schedules for advanced small-cell lung cancer (SCLC). The material for the study is based on data on the treatment of 108 patients with a verified diagnosis of SCLC. For the study the patients were subdivided into three groups in relation to the mode of fractionation of radiation dose. As a result of the study we managed to assess the tolerability of different fractionation schemes, ate outcome of the treatment, as well as to bring to light the advantages of accelerated hyperfractionated radiation therapy.
