The results of the assessment of the suitability of reclaimed soils on shell limestones for the cultivation of forest amelioration plantations, obtained in the course of complex studies of soil and living soil cover, as well as chemical analysis of soils are presented. Soil indicators and parameters of forest productivity of soils with a shortened profile on shell limestone rocks of the steppe zone are determined.
