Forensic profiling: problems of application and ways of their solution

Introduction: significant changes in the political, social and economic spheres of life characterize the modern stage of development of society, which led to a significant deterioration of the crime situation. The practice of investigating crimes has shown that the traditional approach in the activities of law enforcement agencies, although necessary, but not sufficient for the successful solution of their tasks. In the article the author considers one of the perspective criminalistic methods «profiling». The author reflected the main approaches to the definition of the concept under consideration, clarified its practical significance. Special attention is paid to the analysis of profiling application in foreign countries. The main directions of modern use of forensic profiling in Russia are analyzed. The author notes the need to improve educational programs for training specialists "forensic Profiler".
