The article presents theoretical and practical aspects of using the competency-based approach in teaching students of pedagogical specialties of secondary vocational education. Innovative forms of training (virtual excursions, short-term group projects) are described with the aim of forming digital skills in the pedagogical college students, which are related to the formed competencies of the federal state educational standard of secondary professional education and with the teacher’s labor actions.
