The article introduces readers to the history of the Museum in Kolomenskoye in the first and the post-war years. The Museum staff faced difficult circumstances caused by the Great Patriotic war. Some of them were called to the front, some were evacuated along with the exhibits to the city of Barnaul. Kolomenskoye was guarded by fighter jets, barrage balloons, and anti-aircraft guns. The Museum's attendance has increased since 1944. Kolomenskoye was visited by the military, foreign citizens (the Austrian and English ambassadors), employees of various departments, representatives of the creative intelligentsia, and schoolchildren. The employees from the evacuation returned to Kolomenskoye in 1945. A new stage of restoration of monuments, preparation of scientific works, exhibition plans and excursion routes has begun.
