The princes Kholmskiys in the system of political elite of the Russian state at the late XV and the XVI centuries

The article is devoted to the history of Princes Kholmskiys' family in the 15th - 16th centuries. The Princes Kholmskiys played a very prominent role at the court of the Great Dukes of Muscovy, where they actually led the Tver nobility. After the punishment in 1508 their influence was declined. However, until the second half of the 16th century they had belonged to the circles of the Russian aristocracy.
