Clinical studies as part of the research process in creating innovative medicines: opportunities and risks

In this article the author analyzes the current clinical trials market in Russia, provides an analysis of the attractiveness of the national market for investors in comparison with Western markets, discusses the challenges and gaps of the Russian legislation regulating the area of clinical research. It is shown that, despite the prospects of development of the national clinical trials market, there are risks associated with the transition of the pharmaceutical industry under significant control by foreign companies.
