The Polish uprising of 1863-1864 was the largest uprising of Poles in the 19th century. It was also characterized by ethnic and social heterogeneity of its participants. In this paper, the author examines the exile to Siberia of Catholic priests who took part in the uprising, as well as the conditions of hard labor and penal settlements in the Transbaikalia in 1864-1868. The work is based on a wide range of sources, including archive documents from regional archives and memoirs of Polish exiles of the second half of the 19th century. This topic is one of the least studied aspects of the Polish exile in the middle and second half of the 19th century.
