Socio-economic transformations in the country, the activation of social policy in the direction of humanization and democratization of society, the development of the national system of inclusive vocational education determine the search for ways to improve the tools of social and professional adaptation of students with disabilities. The article explicates the content of the concept of “social and professional adaptation of persons with disabilities”, gives a characteristic of its main structural components. The main social and psychological barriers that prevent the full inclusion of students with disabilities in various activities within the educational space of the technical college, as well as the key features of organizing work to create conditions for successful social and professional adaptation, professional self-identification and social integration of this category of students in professional educational organization. The experience of implementation of the program of social and household orientation of students with disabilities at the “Chelyabinsk college of industry and municipal economy named after Ya. P. Osadchiy” is presented.
