Trends in the reduction of qualified personnel, aging of the teaching staff and the slow replenishment of industries with young specialists have persisted for several years. The search for career guidance resources and ways of professional self-determination of a person is relevant today. The authors of the article see the resolution of the above contradictions in the implementation of the tasks of the national project “Education”, including in the use of the practice of immersing children and youth in the ethnocultural environment. The activity of institutions of additional education is a self-determining factor in early vocational guidance. One of the tasks of implementing additional pre-professional general education programs in children’s art schools is to prepare students for further professional education. The article provides statistical information on pre-professional general education programs in the field of musical art, implemented in the Chelyabinsk region. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the Musical Folklore program. The article substantiates the regularity of the relationship between the immersion of children and adolescents in the ethnocultural environment and their professional choice in the future.
