Estriol in formation of mononuclear leukocytes tolerogenic phenotype in multiple sclerosis patients

The influence of pregnancy hormone estriol (E3) on Treg and Th17 phenotypic markers and indoleamine-2,3-dioxygenase (IDO) activity of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients and healthy donors was investigated. The hormone increased Treg percent and monocyte IDO activity and depressed Th17 cells level. Generally E3 had more significant effect on MS patients cells than healthy ones.
