A pilot experiment enables the authors to assess the peculiarities of emotional burn-out and nature of value attitudes characterizing the officers of Penitentiary system in Almaty (Kazakhstan) whose work experience lasts for less than 15 years and longer. The article reveals that three-fourths of officers with longer work experience resist a set of burn-out symptoms through restructuring the fundamental values, the primary one being the value of material maintenance of the family implemented within active life by a mature professional. Half of the officers with long-time experience do not resist this counteraction and suffer the overall moral exhaustion.
