Experimental study of the bushing functioning process of the motor car's suspension

Maintenance of the vehicle in a technically sound condition during the entire period of operation is an important requirement for reducing accidents and increasing the active safety of the vehicle. Methods of diagnostics of suspensions are continuously improved. However, the existing diagnostic methods and stands do not allow to detect all failures of suspensions due to limited functionality of the stands used. To assess the impact of the technical condition of bushings on the characteristics of the car’s suspension, at the Department of Automobiles of the ESSUTM tests were carried out. We used a stand that implements static and dynamic loading. The frequency range of the lever with the tested bushings was set in the range from 0 to 1.67 Hz. During the tests, the bushings with good technical conditions were checked. The developed diagnostic method based on the experimental data obtained will allow us to develop a mathematical model for the functioning of the bushings in order to diagnose it.
