In this article, the author turns to the experience economy as an integrated direction, changing the approach to human values and motivation when choosing goods and services. The experience economy covers all sectors of the economy, but it is in the tourism industry that the tools of the new economy are particularly clearly and effectively applied. The work is aimed at the analysis of the experience economy in the tourism industry of Altai Krai, a synthesis of the accumulated experience of the region in this direction and designation of prospects for further development. Altai as one of the recognized regions leading in the Russian tourism industry has a huge stock of resources for the tourism development with the competent use of tools of the experience economy. The Altai Krai is rich in history, legends, traditions that adorn any journey and are emotionally attached to the place. The impressions and feelings experienced by the traveler during the trip, as well as post-impressions and emotions after the trip are equally important for the economy of impressions: they motivate tourists to repeat trips...
