Overall results of the Russian artistic gymnastics team at the games of the XXXI Olympiad, 2016

The article presents the results of artistic gymnastics contests at the XXXI Olympic Games. 14 sets of medals were competed: two sets for team finals and individual all-round respectively and ten sets of medals for event finals. The competitions were entered by male and female gymnasts who had passed the pre-selection at the 2015 World Championships in Glasgow and 2016 Rio de Janeiro Test Event. 24 athletes from each nation competed in individual all-round and three athletes per each national team in the team finals. The Russian team ranked fourth in the nation standings. The analysis of gymnasts' performance showed that the difficulty value of gymnastic compositions is predominantly due to the increasing number of complex elements that are evaluated by additional scores according to the Code of Points.
