History of the formation of the institution of bankruptcy in Russian legislation

The article provides an analysis of the history of the formation of the institution of bankruptcy in Russian legislation. Three stages of such formation are considered: pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern. It is concluded that the emergence of the institution of bankruptcy is due to the development of trade and market, that is, the economy is the basis, and legal regulation is the superstructure, which is why modifications of the legal norms governing the institution of bankruptcy occurred due to changes in industrial relations.
