In 2017, a team of the IAET of SB RAS resumed archaeological excavations at the burial ground of Kuraika (Altai Mountains, Kosh-Agach District). Ten burials of the Hunno-Sarmatian time were investigated including eight single and two double burials. In the course of the work, it was possible to observe all features of the funeral rite typical of the Kok-Pash type and uncover new details of ritual activities. For the first time, wooden intratumulary pillar structures of covering have been found. The technology of manufacturing larch slabs and wooden frames have been described. Due to the good state of wood preservation in the graves, it became possible to pose the question of using the imitation of the boat in the funeral ritual and to find the parallels in the rituals of the indigenous peoples of Siberia.
