Interpretation of some Altai-Sayan sacred toponyms in light of ethnogonic Turkic-Mongolian myths

This article deals with some geographical categories: toponyms, hydronyms, and native place names in the assumed centers of the Turko-Mongols ethnogenesis. These centers are treated as.geocultural space., where place names act as carriers of meanings and embodiment of Tengri-Kama archaic knowledge. We reveal that Altai-Sayan native place name.Hem // Cem. united etnogonic myths of Turkic-Mongols, it reflected the primary anthroponym.Cemer., which had spread to the ethnonym.the Cimmerians. (the proto-Turko-Mongols) and the hydronym.Ulug-Hem., and comprised theonyms and religious concepts related to Tengri worldview. The analysis of ancient, fundamental and common for Turkic-Mongolian etnogonic myths about Ergune Hoon // Ergenekon, flood and the swan-grandparent. Interpretation of Altai-Sayan toponyms, hydronyms, native place names, and ethnonyms shows ancientry and commonality of Turko-Mongol ethnic groups, unity of their historical development, integrity of Tengri-Kama worldview ideas within the single sacred center of the Sayano-Altai Mountain system.
