The article is devoted to the problem of integration of historical and pedagogical knowledge into the process of professional and pedagogical training of students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages. Noting the important role of historical and pedagogical knowledge for teacher training, the author draws attention to the tendency to reduce special historical and pedagogical courses in modern higher pedagogical education. Using the example of the analysis of the work on the textbook "Pedagogy and education of Great Britain and the USA: history and modernity", the author shows the possibility of expanding professional pedagogical erudition, increasing motivation and professional interest of students in studying the history of foreign pedagogy. The conceptualization of pedagogical knowledge, in which knowledge about the phenomena of the pedagogical past and the pedagogical present are included in a single theoretical space, made it possible to identify pedagogical ideas and practices that have the greatest heuristic and prognostic significance for the development of pedagogical consciousness of the future bachelor of pedagogical education in the English language profile.
