The article is devoted to studying the use of the political culture heritage of the Ging Empire, the Great Mongolian Empire and the Yuan Empire in the formation of the imperial ideology of the Manchu rulers Nurhachi and Khun Taiji, and also of the Čaqar leader Ligdan Khan at the beginning of the XVIIth century. The information about the historical monuments “Manwen Lao Dang” (“The Ancient Archives in the Manchu Language”) and “Daičing ulus-un mongγul-un maγad qauli” (“True records of the Mongols of the Qing Empire”) were used for the reconstruction of the ideas about the succession of the powerful empires of the past in the political practice of the founders of the Qing dynasty. The Manchus used historical continuity with the Ging dynasty to consolidate the Jurchen tribes. At the same time, they were able to draw the legacy of the political culture of the Chinggis Khan’s state for the integration of the Mongolian tribes not being the representatives of the Golden kin. However, the involvement of China in the state structure of those empires served as a historical justification of the geopolitical claims of the young Qing empire.
